My Trips
I have to start writing about my trips. I will start whith the last one covering the last 4 whith the first one being a cruise of the Medertrainian, then Athens Greece, (went there to check out how they build on farmland), then to Eastern Europe and the latest, back to Eastern Europe. I just returned from another trip to Northern Europe! (Word) On the way, on the plane, a man became ill, so the plane had to make a u turn and land, get the man off the plane, then refuel and then continue. I landed, the plane, in Warsaw about 9:30, waited for my luggage, one suitcase, which was not there, then inquired about a tourist office, but by then, was closed, cashed a Traveler's check, asked the lady if she knew of any reasonable hotels, to which she replied that there was one down the road. Bought a ticket, went there, very high class, lots of moola, but hotel clerk helped me out and called the hotel that was close to hotel, to which I thought would be the expensive one, lucky, buses still running, went back there, charged a room, then went into the lounge to have a beer. There was two good looking women there, but, after a few moments of observing, noticing the low cut blouses, short skirts and 10 pounds of make-up, I thought oh oh. The next day I caught a bus, wasn't too hard as they stop once in a while-ha, to go downtown to Warsaw. (The guy from Seattle was right about that street, traffic was very slow). There was a line,(a blue rope) strung along both sides of this wide street, for a long way, as the Pope was going to be a guest at same hotel the next day. (Thousands of cops). Found main train station, booked a room on a boat, more about that later, took a tour, which ended on the spot formally referred to as the "Ghetto" where the German cops had put a lot of polish people accused of being "Indians", whoops, I mean Jews. (WE don't put local people in camps and then kill them, wait, what about the Winchester and "reservations"? Then, one of the young men who worked for the "Rent a Car" to which the tour Co. had rented, took me to the "boat". I just remember, it was the "Old Town". (The Ghetto was in Gadx to which I went next). That city is on the very end of Poland, north east, next to the Baltic Sea. NOTE: There ain't no beer in heaven nor in Poland. Yes they have beer but not like most countries. I always try and compare prices. The hotel was average, a beer at the hotel , where I waited for the tour bus, was about 6 times the price of a beer waterfront at men's bar in Gadx. ( After about 10 years of healing from over indulging, I started to drink a few beers a day, which was wonderful when I went to Greece as the price for beer was almost the same as buying water). Talking about bottled water, it proves that, at least in this country, proves that most people are like sheep. However, won of the bad things about Europe, is that you have to buy water., even in restaurants. Have to pay topee also, most places. (When I took the cruise, I was still not drinking, which probably saved me a lot of money. I drank soft drinks which cost $1.76 for which I had to sign a bill). I found out later that I was being charged 10 bucks a day for the asshole to rush into my room every time that I steped out, to which I did not sign to which the card Co. won't take off bill, to which I refuse to pay- so ha ha to the J.E.W.'s.
Yesterday, I seen Superman. While watching the movie, I keep think about the "boat" to which I stayed . The boat was docked between two huge, high and long bridges, one for cars and trains and one for cars and trams. To get to and from the boat, I had to climb out the sig zag stairs up the stantion to the bridge. When I finally got to the boat, it was still early. As there was nothing to do on the boat, no TV or food, I went up on the bridge and walked towards town which was still way op on the highway. I was warned by passerby's that I should be careful of bing mugged. But not me. "What me worry"? I'm tough, oh yeah?. Well anyway, I took one of the exits along one of the stations. They are lighted, except this one wasn't. I had to feel my way along as I climb down the steps. I thought, "boy are you dumb". However, since it was pitch dark, I thought that I would have an equal advantage. When I got down to ground level, I seen lights in the distance, so proceeded towards the buildings. There was a little "jazz" club bar, so went in and had a beer. The people there were interested in who i was. When I told them that I was an Californian and that mission was to save the farmland where I lived, they invited me over and bought me a shot. (Every had one, which is the custom, "salute'. I then started back, thought that i would take a short cut, got lost, as usually, ask a couple of police men what the direction of the bridge, found the bridge, this time I picked a stantion that had lights, went back to the boat. More later---
MARIBOR, Slovenija Yesterday I got so pissed off thinking of all the B.S., that I had to think of something good. So last nite I was thinking of when I was in Maribor the first time. (I went back there about a month ago too see/visit two ladies. (You know I got over the SEX URGE, BUT STILL FALL INTO THE TRAP OF LIKENING YOUNG ladies). I know that I make a fool out of my self when I address meetings, but the common folk like it, however, I think/feel that I'm really a dumb dum for falling in love? Well anyhow, the first time that I was there, I was walking from the train station to the bar to which worked one of the ladies, and a man approached me whith a mike and asked me, in his language, if I had anything to say. I said" I'm from California and don't speak Slav(?)", he said that's okay, so I said " it's a beautiful country but I don't understand why you people were killing each other a few years ago". He replied, "thank you for your time" and left. Now Maribor is a fantastic place, I will write more about the town/city, later.
